Rosa Jane Chambliss Cain, 64, of Driftwood Lane, Roanoke Rapids, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Cain was born January 5, 1948, to the late Leslie Marvin and Edith Mae Sadler Chambliss.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a member of Open Door Fellowship.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Donnie Ray Coker, two brothers: Arnold Payne “Buck” Chambliss, Vernon Chambliss; and two sisters: Sandra Johnson and Connie Walker.
She is survived by her husband, Alton Cain; her daughter, Rosa Coker and husband, Mike; her brother-in-law, Edgar James Cain; her sisters, Verla Jenkins and Maxine Sanders, all of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren: Michael Ray Coker and fiancé, Kristen Bowden, Jeffrey Coker and fiancé, Kate Williams, and Chris Coker and wife, Emily; her great-grandchildren: Brantley Christopher Coker and Joshua Alex Williams
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. conducted by the Rev. Wayne Marshall, Rev. Russ Collins and Rev. James Rawls. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 7 – 9 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
